SAN ANTONIO (March 4, 2016) – VIA Metropolitan Transit has launched its third interactive, online survey in support of Vision 2040, a community-driven process to update the agency’s Long Range Comprehensive Transportation Plan. The latest phase of the VIA Vision 2040 planning process will be a collaboration with SA Tomorrow, a City of San Antonio transportation planning initiative. The survey is now available online at www.Vision2040Survey.com.

“The public provided important feedback and suggestions in response to the Vision 2040 surveys conducted in 2015 and we anticipate great participation in the next phase of this project,” VIA President/CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt said. “We want to continue to build on the public’s input so that, together, we can shape the future of public transportation.”

VIA identified essential elements to its long-range plan based on feedback and recommendations of more than 7,000 survey respondents during the past year. They include the enhancement of VIA’s bus system, including need for more frequent service throughout its system during peak hours, additional Primo bus corridors and improved shelters, sidewalks and crosswalks.

VIA is seeking additional community input through an interactive online survey. The survey will remain active through March 31, 2016. Printed surveys are available by calling (210) 362-2742.
