Park & Ride Service will be supplemented by Prímo and VIVA Service
SAN ANTONIO (May 31, 2017) — VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer convenient and affordable Special Event Park & Ride Service to the 46th Annual Texas Folklife Festival on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Institute of Texan Cultures, 801 E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. For all three days of the festival, June 9-11, 2017, VIA Prímo (100) and VIVA centro (301) routes will also be available to provide direct service to the Institute.
Park & Ride Service will be available from the Crossroads Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd., to the Folklife Festival’s Gate 3 on Cesar Chavez beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, and return service will continue until 11:30 p.m. The fare is $2.50 each way with discounted fares available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty members of the military. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride location. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service.
In addition to the Park & Ride Service, VIA Prímo and VIVA centro will be detoured to serve the Institute of Texan Cultures on the following schedule.
• Friday, June 9 – 4:30 to 11:30 p.m.
• Saturday, June 10 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Sunday, June 11 – 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The regular bus fare of $1.30 will apply to Prímo and VIVA service. Day Passes are available on the bus for $2.75 and are good for unlimited rides on the day of activation. VIA bus passes will be accepted for trips on Prímo and VIVA.
