The San Antonio Fire Department has been collecting fans all summer to help senior citizens beat the heat through Project Cool, and today the effort got a boost from workers at VIA Metropolitan Transit.
VIA's Transit Police Department held a drive to assist Project Cool by collecting box fans from VIA employees. The drive resulted in 46 fans, and Police Chief Cory Chilcutt, Lieutenant Richard Bonn, and Community Relations Coordinator Tony Luna delivered the donated fans to SAFD Fire Station #5 on Mason Street.
