Rider Alert / Passenger Notice

On Saturday, March 13, two events will be going on in the downtown area that will cause some VIA routes to be on detours. These events are the Luminaria Art Night and the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Though the Luminaria event doesn't start until the evening on March 13, VIA's detours for this event will begin at 7:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day to allow for set up and preparations. The details of these detours are listed below:

Route 54 as it turns into route 97
From Alamo Street and Durango Boulevard, left on Durango
Right on St. Mary's Street to Nueva Street
Continue regular route

Route 97 as it turns into route 54
From St. Mary's Street and Nueva Street, continue on St. Mary's to Durango Boulevard
Left on Durango
Right on Alamo Street
Continue regular route

Red streetcar route
From Alamo Street and Commerce Street, right on Commerce
Left on St. Mary's Street
Left on Villita Street
Left on Navarro Street
Continue regular route

Blue streetcar route, clockwise
From Alamo Street and Commerce Street, right on Commerce
Left on St. Mary's Street
Left on Durango Boulevard
Right on Alamo
Continue regular route

Blue streetcar route, counterclockwise
From Alamo Street and Durango Boulevard, left on Durango
Right on St. Mary's Street, continuing onto Navarro Street
Right on Market Street
Left on Alamo
Continue regular route

In the middle of the day, these detours will shift to allow for the St. Patrick's Day parade to process through downtown. The parade detours (which are listed below) will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue through 1:00 p.m. when they shift back to the Luminaria detours.

From Broadway and Third Street, right on Third, continuing onto Martin Street

Both directions will continue regular route through breaks in the parade
