Listening to our riders  Contact us about this...

Tonight (January 8) VIA will hold a public hearing to share proposed service changes for March, but there will be one alteration to the proposals. That alteration is the cancellation of the proposed revision to route 618.
As part of the original package of service revisions (seen on this media release), a segment of route 618 near Ingram Road and Hunt Lane would have been removed, and bus riders who would have been affected by this change made contact with VIA to express their displeasure. After listening to our riders and considering their concerns, VIA decided to remove this change from the slate of revisions. As such, route 618 will remain on its current routing come March 2, 2009.
People are still encouraged to attend tonight's meeting to hear what VIA has in store for the next round of service revisions. The meeting will be held at the Senator Frank L. Madla Transit Center on IH-35 near Zarzamora Street, and it will begin at 6:00 p.m. If you can't make it to this meeting, another public hearing will be held next Thursday, January 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the VIA Metro Center, 1021 San Pedro.
