Park and ride available to Folklife Festival

VIA Metropolitan Transit will operate special event park and ride service for the upcoming Texas Folklife Festival June 12-14, 2009.
Park and ride service to the festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures will be provided from the Crossroads Park and Ride, the Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, the Blossom Athletic Center, and the Madla Transit Center. Buses will run according to the following schedule:
Friday, June 12 – 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 13 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 14 – 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The special event fare is $2.50 each way with a discount fare of $1.25 each way available to children, seniors, Medicare recipients, and students. VIAtrans customers and children under five years of age ride free. VIA’s passes are not valid for park and ride service, and on event days tokens will be sold only at the park and ride locations.
Visitors to the Folklife Festival can also park free at the Ellis Alley Park and Ride when they ride the Yellow Streetcar. The fare is $1.10 per trip.
