VIA bus route changes go into effect August 24

VIA Metropolitan Transit has revised the services for some of its bus routes. These changes, which affect the following routes, will go into effect Monday, August 24.
2 Blanco – Schedule will be adjusted to improve adherence.
14 Perrin Beitel – Schedule will be adjusted to improve adherence.
21 Kirby/Converse – Route will be extended from Windburn Trail and Kitty Hawk Road to the Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride to cover areas currently served by route 639. Service will be removed from Toepperwein Road beyond Windburn Trail as well as the short segment on Kitty Hawk from Toepperwein to Windburn Trail. Schedules will be adjusted for timely connections at Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride.
51 Nogalitos – Schedule will be adjusted to improve adherence.
67 Laredo – Minor route change entering Las Palmas Shopping Center. No schedule adjustments.
68 Guadalupe Frequent – Minor route change entering Las Palmas Shopping Center. No schedule adjustments.
70 West Durango – Minor route change entering Las Palmas Shopping Center. No schedule adjustments.
77 Martin – Schedule will be adjusted to improve adherence.
522 Babcock – Minor route change entering Las Palmas Shopping Center. No schedule adjustments.
550/551 Looper Skip – Schedule will be adjusted to improve adherence.
630 Randolph/Sunrise – Route will no longer be interlined with route 639. Route 630 will now be interlined with routes 505 and 632, and the schedule will be adjusted.
632 Randolph/Ventura – Route will be interlined with routes 509 and 630, and the schedule will be adjusted.
639 Randolph/Converse – Route will be eliminated. The portion of the route between Judson High School and Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride will be served by the modified route 21, which offers more frequent 30-minute service during weekday peak hours. The current loop of route 639 on Schaefer Road, Mayfair Drive, Canterbury Lane, and Kerrybrook Drive will no longer have service.
Yellow Streetcar – The weekday service to the Alamodome Parking Lot C via Cherry Street will be eliminated. The weekend routing on the frontage road of IH-37 will also be provided on weekdays.
In addition to the above changes, the pocket schedules for routes 505 and 509 will be adjusted to reflect the new interlines as described in the changes to routes 630 and 632. Schedule times will not be changed.
Look for new pocket schedules online now. Printed pocket schedules will soon be available at all VIA information centers and on buses.
