Bus passes now available online

Posted: 6/4/2007

VIA Metropolitan Transit has made it possible for riders to get their bus passes and tickets through the agency’s Web site.

In addition to buying passes and tickets at VIA’s customer information centers, riders can now obtain them when they visit the Online Store. Monthly Big Passes, One Day Passes, bus and streetcar tickets, VIAtrans tickets, and special event tokens can all be purchased with a credit card at the Online Store. Once the transaction is complete, VIA will mail the products directly to the customer’s address.

VIA’s Web site has also gone through some other changes, including a complete redesign of the interface. A sleek, new look with a fresh color palette greets customers as they log on and begin exploring the site. The Personal Trip Planner has also been redesigned to make planning bus trips easier and more informative. There is also a cost calculator that gives potential riders the chance to find out how riding the bus can save on transportation costs. And, the interactive system map has been reworked to include aerial photographs.

VIA has also placed some videos on the Web site that give helpful tips on how to ride and navigate the system as well as information on other transit-related topics.
