Reduced Fare ID
A VIA Reduced Fare ID is required and must be presented when boarding in order to
reduced fares or use discounted passes (children and active-duty military in uniform are not required to show ID).
How to get a Reduced Fare ID
Senior Citizens, Medicare Recipients, and Disabled Veterans can obtain their Reduced
Fare ID at VIA's Customer Service Centers, except Randolph and Ingram.
Senior citizens who are 62 years or older must present a government-issued ID with
date of birth (state ID, driver's license, veteran's ID or passport).
Medicare recipients must present a valid Medicare Card and government issued ID.
Veterans must have written documentation from the Department of Veterans Affairs
verifying their disability rating.
Persons with certain disabilities can download the Reduced Fare application, or
acquire one from VIA's Information Centers.
Elementary, middle and high school students can get the necessary forms through their
administrator's office. College students should contact their Bursar's office.
