SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 25, 2016) – Roadrunner football fans can plan their 2016 season with VIA Metropolitan Transit’s Special Event Park & Ride Service—a convenient and affordable way to travel to and from home games. VIA will offer Park & Ride Service to all University of Texas at San Antonio football games held at the Alamodome during the 2016 season.

Park & Ride Service to the Alamodome will be provided from the Crossroads Park and Ride, the Madla Transit Center, and the UTSA Main Campus (pick up at Margaret Tobin and Walter Brenan, parking in the Tobin Parking Garage at Margaret Tobin and John Peace). Service will begin two and a half hours before game time, and return service will run for one hour after each game.

Park & Ride Service is $2.50 each way, with discounts available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military members in uniform or with a VIA Reduced Fare ID. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride locations. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service. A current student ID is required to receive the student rate.

In addition to the Park & Ride Service, VIA Primo (100) and VIVA centro (301) will be detoured to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome, beginning two and a half hours before kickoff and continuing for one hour after the game. The regular bus fare of $1.30 will apply. VIA bus passes will be accepted for trips on Primo and VIVA.

The first home game of the season happens Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, against the Alabama State University Hornets.
