SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 20, 2016) — Three major events in the Downtown San Antonio area will bring extra crowds and vehicles to the city’s center from October 28 through 30. VIA Metropolitan Transit reminds visitors that convenient public transportation choices provide connections to major venues in the central business district, including La Villita, the Convention Center, and the Alamodome.

VIVA centro (Route 301) is a convenient transportation choice for MuertoFest at La Villita, October 29-30. The Día de los Muertos celebration features traditional art, culture, music and food. VIVA centro’s frequent service runs every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends, with stops just a block from La Villita.

Nearby, Alamo City Comic Con is expected to gather more than 20,000 visitors to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center October 28-30, for one of the largest Comic Con events in the country. VIVA centro stops directly in front of the Convention Center on Market Street.

The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners will also take on the University of North Texas Eagles in the Alamodome on October 29. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. VIVA centro will be on a special route to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome beginning two and a half hours before kickoff. Service continues for one hour after the game.
