SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 18, 2016) – VIA Metropolitan Transit will join the community in celebrating the start of holiday season and supporting “Small Business Saturday” with complimentary rides on all three VIVA routes, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 26-27, 2016.

Fare-free service will be offered on VIVA centro (Route 301), VIVA missions (Route 40), and VIVA culture (Route 11), which connect passengers with some of the most-visited sites in San Antonio and in Texas. Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small and local businesses across the country.

VIVA routes serve the culturally and historically rich corridors in the heart of the city daily, including shopping, dining and entertainment destinations. Passengers who board any VIVA route on Nov. 26 and 27 can experience and explore the new service, fare free.

“Offering complimentary VIVA service to kick off this holiday season is a special opportunity for VIA to encourage residents and visitors alike to enjoy and explore the heart of our city, while supporting local businesses, and cultural and historical venues,” said VIA President/CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt. “The colorful corridors that VIVA travels will be dressed for the holidays with lights, music and special events. VIA is happy to offer a weekend of complimentary VIVA service and connect our community with holiday events and celebrations.”
