High-frequency service now on Zarzamora. VIA is starting the new year with a new Prímo route that travels from Crossroads Park & Ride to the Madla Transit Center along Fredericksburg Road and Zarzamora Street. 103 Prímo Zarzamora provides 12-minute frequency during peak hours, and daily service until 1 a.m. Ride Prímo for $1.30 each trip, or $2.75 unlimited all day. That’s why VIA works hard to give you more of it with routes stopping every 15 minutes or less. VIA continues to increase its service frequency on some of the most utilized routes around the city to provide you more options, more convenience and more ways for you to get where you need to go. New high-frequency routes added in January 2019 run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Every 15 minutes – Routes 82, and 88 Every 20 minutes – Routes 9, 10, 43, and 44 In 2018, upgraded frequency to routes 3, 20, 24, 26, and 28, and now provides high frequency service on 27 daily routes. Safety Sofie wants to make sure everyone enjoys riding VIA and has these tips for everyone to stay safe when taking the bus: • Don’t approach a moving bus and never chase a bus. • Do not step in front of a bus or stand between vehicles. • Be aware of your surroundings at a bus stop or crossing the street. • Listen to the bus operator’s instructions. • Wait for the bus on the sidewalk. Here’s a quick refresher With the VIA Semester Pass and U-Pass at select schools, you can use your pass and ride anytime on any regular service bus throughout the system. Students enrolled Our Lady of Lake University or any Alamo Colleges District campus – San Antonio College, St. Philip’s, Palo Alto, Northwest Vista, or Northeast Lakeview – are eligible for the new VIA U-Pass, which is included in the school tuition. Students simply show their Student ID when boarding any regular service bus. MV Transportation, our new VIAtrans service partner, began operating in November 2018. MV brings more than 40 years of national paratransit experience and a fleet of new transit vans to serve the community. While MV vehicles are new, your VIAtrans service will be as safe, reliable and friendly as always. VIAoperated vans will continue in service, alongside MV vehicles, and scheduling and automatic trip reminders will remain the same. VIAtrans connects riders to work, school and other destination over 4,000 times a month. This sharedride service for customers with disabilities plays an important role in the community by providing access and independence through mobility.
