Route Description:

Route 79 Ruiz / Culebra Park provides bus service along the Ruiz and Culebra corridors in west San Antonio. It connects Mira Vista & Culebra and key westside neighborhoods (including areas near Rosedale Park and University Downtown Health Center) to downtown at Pecan & Navarro.

Route 79

Frequency Improvements & Route Realignments

Service Change:

• Frequency improves from 60 minutes to 30-minutes, seven days a week
• Replaces service on route 77 Martin west of General McMullen
• New transit service on West Commerce and Callaghan Road between Culebra Road and Commerce Street
• Span of service expansion from 10 p.m.to 12:30 a.m., seven days a week

Holiday & Fiesta Schedules

Bus service on VIA observed holidays will be provided as follows:

SATURDAY SCHEDULE: Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve.

SUNDAY SCHEDULE: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

FIESTA SCHEDULE: Times are subject to change during the Fiesta parades. Please refer to the Fiesta page details.

Riders with Disabilities

All VIA buses and many stops are now accessible to riders with disabilities. Visually impaired riders can get help at stops using the Navilens apps.

Bike & Ride

You and your bike (including e-bikes) can go anywhere VIA goes. On the larger Prímo vehicles, there are bike racks inside the vehicle and on all other buses the bike rack is outside the bus in the front.
