Ride VIA fare-free to the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. VIA Metropolitan Transit’s complimentary bus service for march participants supports the nation’s largest MLK holiday procession.

Service to the 2026 March

Passengers may access free service to the march from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 at two locations (see map below):

➤ Alamodome – Lot C – located at the corner of Montana and S. Cherry steets

➤ St. Philip’s College – Lots 21, 22 and 23, located along Montana Street and the intersections of S. Gevers and S. Mittman streets.

The drop-off location for service to the march will be on MLK Drive, west of Upland Drive.

Return Service from the March

Buses will return passengers to the original pick-up locations from noon to 3 p.m. Participants may access return service at Pittman-Sullivan Park, 1101 Iowa St.

Celebrate with VIA

The community is invited to visit the VIA tent at Pittman-Sullivan Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., near the YMCA Parking Lot, where the vintage Dreamliner bus will be parked for viewing. VIA team members will be on site to share information about VIA programs and services, including the Keep SA Moving plan and ongoing projects designed to improve public transit options throughout San Antonio and Bexar County.

➤ Route: About 2.75 miles along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive through San Antonio’s Historic East Side.

➤ March Ends: Pittman-Sullivan Park, 1101 Iowa St.

➤ Return Bus Service: Noon to 3 p.m. – Buses will return passengers to the original pick-up locations and can participants can board buses on the north side of Pittman-Sullivan Park along Nevada Street
