Community members invited to meet on VIA’s proposed Silver Line Project
VIA Metropolitan Transit will host a series of community meetings in January to share information and gather feedback on the proposed VIA Rapid Silver Line project, an Advanced Rapid Transit corridor that’s designed to connect more people to opportunities with high-quality transit options on the East and West sides.
The proposed Silver Line corridor would run between the area near Our Lady of the Lake University, through Downtown and to the Frost Bank Center. It would offer improved service that’s fast, convenient, and affordable for existing riders, while attracting new riders, and promoting new job development along the corridor. The Silver Line could also help improve traffic flow and lower greenhouse gas emissions, to improve air quality along the corridor.
These public meetings will be held come-and-go style with no formal presentation. The same information will be available at all three meetings taking place on the following dates and times:
Those who cannot attend in person may visit KeepSAmoving.com, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, to access meeting materials and input forms for the community meetings.
