Temporary Bus Stops ensure bus service will continue during pavement repairs

Phase 2 of construction to repair the pavement at the Brooks Transit Center (7903 S. New Braunfels Ave., 78235) is scheduled to begin Jan. 12, 2026. Service at the transit center will remain uninterrupted, but the work will force the closure of bus lanes on the south side of the transit center’s main building.

What’s Happening?
Due to the work, regular boarding areas on the interior perimeter of the transit center building are closed and temporary stops are set up on the bus lanes on the north side of the building and near the exit onto S. New Braunfels Ave., to provide access to routes that serve the center. The temporary stops and routes are listed and can be seen in the map below.

Five routes (7, 32 Southbound, 34, 102, 552) will enter on Sidney Brooks Dr., use temporary stops, and exit onto S. New Braunfels Ave. Three routes (20, 32 Northbound, and 36) will use a temporary stop along Sidney Brooks Dr.

Phase 2 is projected to last approximately a month and a half, and the entire project is expected to be complete by late summer or early fall 2026.
