Service Changes - May 2021 - VIA Metropolitan Transit

VIA Metropolitan Transit service improvements set to go into effect Monday, May 3, will include increased frequency on several key routes. The following adjustments are part of scheduled changes and plans to enhance VIA’s essential service schedule, designed to keep San Antonio moving safely:

♦ Route 3 San Pedro Skip – Frequency will be increased from 20 to 15 minutes on Saturdays.

♦ Route 4 San Pedro Frequent – Frequency will be increased from 30 to 20 minutes from 6-9 a.m. on weekdays.

♦ Route 10 Naco/Broadway – Frequency will be increased from 30 to 20 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 25 East Commerce – Frequency will be increased from 20 to 15 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 28 Porter Frequent – Frequency will be increased from 30 to 20 minutes from 6-9 a.m. on weekdays.

♦ Route 51 Nogalitos – Frequency will be increased from 30 to 20 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 75 West Commerce – Frequency will be increased from 20 to 15 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 76 West Commerce Skip – Frequency will be increased from 20 to 15 minutes on Saturdays.

♦ Route 502 Thousand Oaks – Frequency will be increased from 60 to 30 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 602 North Star/Medical Center – Frequency will be increased from 60 to 30 minutes all day on weekdays.

♦ Route 651 Deco District/Castle Hills – Frequency will be increased from 60 to 45 minutes all day on weekdays.

Minor schedule adjustments will be made to routes 9, 14, 21, 43, 44, 77, 97, 505, 509, 603, 629, 630, and 632.

Other changes that will take place include the following:

♦ Route 25 East Commerce – The extension to Royal View will resume during peak periods only.

♦ Route 505 Basse – This route will no longer continue as route 630 Randolph/Kirby/Sunrise.

♦ Route 629 Industry Park – This route will continue as route 632 Randolph/Ventura on weekdays only.

♦ Route 630 Randolph/Kirby/Sunrise – The route will be modified due to long-term construction, traveling from N. Foster to Summerfest, Old Seguin Road, Ackerman, and Binz-Engelman before returning to N. Foster. The route will also continue as route 632 Randolph/Ventura on weekdays only.

They also may conveniently plan trips, and purchase fares and passes with the VIA goMobile app. Passengers can simply show their phone screen to the operator when boarding. Safe Riding Reminders:

Face coverings are required inside VIA facilities and on VIA vehicles.

VIA recommends paying touch-free through the VIA goMobile app.

Maintain social distancing while riding VIA services.

Avoid riding when feeling ill.
