SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 4, 2016) — VIA Metropolitan Transit is revising the service on some of its bus routes to reduce transfers and ease congestion downtown. These revisions are primarily related to Centro Plaza at VIA Villa, a new, state-of-the-art transit center at 909 W. Houston St. that offers riders a customer service center, air-conditioned waiting area, free 4G LTE WiFi, ticket vending machines, and more. The route changes, listed below, go into effect Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. These changes reflect VIA’s commitment to offering enhanced services and amenities to customers and the community.

3 San Pedro Skip – Route will end at North Star Transit Center. Extended trips to Blossom Park & Ride will be covered by the modified Route 4. The revised Route 3 will travel west of downtown and serve Centro Plaza, continuing as Route 76 instead of Route 46. Frequency will increase to every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
4 San Pedro Frequent – Route will provide extended trips to Blossom Park & Ride currently being provided by Route 3. The revised Route 4 will continue through downtown as Route 24 instead of Route 20.
20 New Braunfels Frequent – Route will travel west of downtown and serve Centro Plaza, continuing as Route 66 instead of Route 4.
24 East Houston Frequent – Route will continue through downtown as Route 4 instead of Route 66.
25 East Commerce Frequent – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza and continue through downtown as Route 75.
28 Porter – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza. Every other bus will continue outbound as either Route 62 or Route 89.
46 Commercial – Route will travel west of downtown and serve Centro Plaza as the end of the line. The revised Route 46 will no longer continue as Route 3.
62 Kirk – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza and continue through downtown as Route 28.
66 Ceralvo Frequent – Route will travel west of downtown and serve Centro Plaza, continuing as Route 20 instead of Route 24.
75 West Commerce Frequent – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza and continue through downtown as Route 25.
76 West Commerce Skip – Route will travel west of downtown and serve Centro Plaza, continuing as Route 3 instead of Route 28.
79 Ruiz Frequent – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza and continue through downtown as Route 14.
89 Poplar – Route will be modified to serve Centro Plaza and continue through downtown as Route 28.

In addition to the changes listed above, there will be minor adjustments made to routes 17, 26, 68, and 93.
