SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 31, 2016) – VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer visitors and local fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Army Black Knights a convenient and affordable travel option to The Shamrock Series football game on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 in the Alamodome, 100 Montana St.
VIA will offer Park & Ride Service to the Alamodome for the Notre Dame vs. Army game from the Crossroads Park and Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd., and the Madla Transit Center, 1584 Cantrell Drive. Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. (three hours before kickoff), and return service will run for one hour after the game.
Park & Ride Service is $2.50 each way, with discounts available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military members in uniform or with a VIA Reduced Fare ID. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride locations. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service, and a current student ID is required to receive the student rate.
In addition to the Park & Ride Service, VIA Primo (100) and VIVA centro (301) will be detoured to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome, beginning three hours before kickoff and continuing for one hour after the game. The regular bus fare of $1.30 will apply. A VIA Day Pass is also available for $2.75 and allows riders to make unlimited trips for the entire day on regular, system-wide service. Other VIA bus passes (Semester Pass, 31-Day Pass, and 7-Day Pass) will be accepted for trips on Primo and VIVA as well.
