Multiple Routes on Downtown Detour for San Antonio Marathon

Multiple Routes Detoured For SA Marathon

On Friday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 7, VIA Metropolitan Transit buses will be on detour along several routes in the downtown area to accommodate the San Antonio Marathon, an event that includes a 5K on Friday evening and half and full marathons on Sunday.

Bus routes that conflict with the race course corridor will be on detour during the events. The Friday 5K is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the half and full marathons begin at 7:15 a.m. and are expected to be concluded by noon.

The routes for the races travel from downtown into Southtown and then turn north, heading into Breckenridge Park and neighborhoods north, east and west of the park.
