Reaching a milestone

VIA Metropolitan Transit marks a milestone in its ongoing work to build an enhanced bus system for the region.

One thousand new bus shelters with completed improvements bring the total number of sheltered stops in the VIA service area to more than 2,200.

About the Next-Gen Shelters

• The flexible modular concept allows scalability to serve differing activity needs tailored to each bus stop, and is designed to reflect the cultural fabric of area parks, neighborhoods, places of interest, and historic sites.

• Nearly all of the contractors used for the Passenger Amenities Program are locally owned business and/or certified DBEs.
