Employee Referral Program

We will pay VIA employees who refer a friend and are hired for one of these positions:

VIA Bus

BUS OPERATORS

VIAtrans Van

VAN OPERATORS

VIA Mechanic

MECHANIC

VIA Shop Attendant

CDL SHOP ATTENDANT

VIA Bus Operator

VIA EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM

When referring a potential new hire, simply have them check “Company Referral” in the drop-down menu under the “How did you find out about the vacancy” tab and enter your full name and employee number.
We will pay in three stages:

  • $300 when training is completed
  • $300 when probation is completed
  • $400 when second-step raise is achieved

EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS

In order for the referring VIA employee to qualify for the third payment the newly hired employee must meet the following:

  • Have no more than one accident greater than a P4.
  • Have no more than 3 Work Failures.
  • Have no level 3 offenses under the Progressive Discipline Policy.
  • In addition to all of the above, must otherwise be an employee in good standing.

VIA seeks referrals of quality candidates and encourages employees to serve as mentors to help ensure the success of new hires.
