SAN ANTONIO (September 2017) – Twenty-six new Primo bus stops are being constructed along the Zarzamora Primo route as part of improvements underway for the Zarzamora Street and S.W. Military Primo corridors.

Each new stop will feature lighted shelters with seating, free 4G LTE WiFi, a digital screen with next-bus arrival information, and a security camera system. Various sidewalk, driveway, and traffic signal improvements will support new Primo bus service along Zarzamora Street from S.W. Military to Fredericksburg Road.

The improvements are part of VIA’s South/West Corridor Transit Improvements Project that is in its design and construction phases, focusing on the Zarzamora Primo and Military Primo routes. Work on the project began in September 2017.

Area residents can expect some temporary traffic disruptions to accommodate bus pad installation in the street. The majority of the remaining work will take place behind the curb and should have minimal impact to traffic beyond an occasional temporary lane closure. Work on the project is expected to last about 15 months and completion is scheduled near the end of 2018.
