Special Event Park & Ride Service offers round trip to Alamodome for just $5

SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 28, 2017) – VIA Metropolitan Transit will kick off the 2017 Roadrunner Football Season with Special Event Park & Ride Service to all home games beginning September 2, when the University of Texas at San Antonio takes on the University of Houston Cougars. VIA’s Park & Ride Service is convenient and affordable with roundtrip travel to the Alamodome for just $5.

Park & Ride Service to UTSA home games will be provided from the Crossroads Park & Ride, the Madla Transit Center, and the UTSA Main Campus (pick up at Margaret Tobin and Walter Brenan, parking in the Tobin Parking Garage at Margaret Tobin and John Peace). Service will begin two and a half hours before game time, and return service will run for one hour after each game.

Park & Ride fare is $2.50 each way with discounted fares available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military. Pre-purchase tickets on VIA’s new goMobile app, available to download free on Apple and Android devices. Cash and credit cards are accepted at Park & Ride locations. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service.

In addition to the Park & Ride Service, VIA Prímo (100) and VIVA centro (301) will be detoured to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Center at the Alamodome, beginning two and a half hours before game time and continuing for one hour after the conclusion of each game.  Regular bus fare of $1.30 per trip will apply. Day Passes are available on the bus for $2.75 and are good for unlimited rides on the day of activation. VIA bus passes will be accepted for trips on Prímo and VIVA centro.

NOTE: In efforts to provide a safer environment for the public and in order to expedite fan entry into the stadium, a Clear Bag Policy that limits the size & type of bags that may be brought into the Alamodome is in effect. Fans traveling to Roadrunner football games and board VIA buses with non-clear bags, purses, backpack, etc., will not be allowed to take those bags into the Alamodome.
