2nd annual event to bring together best coders and creative designers

VIA Metropolitan Transit announces the 2nd Annual VIA GoCodeSA Codeathon, an event designed to bring together the best coders, designers, and tech experts in the area, and challenge them to turn bright transit ideas into potential transit innovation for our region. Teams will compete for cash prizes.

GoCodeSA is free for participants, who will be eligible for cash prizes based on their work. Applicants must register as a group, each composed of at least two and at most five individuals, age 18 and older. The Codeathon judges will conduct reviews and select the top three entries.
The registration deadline is Feb. 2, 2018, and is limited to the first 100 registrants. Visit gocodesa.com to register.
GoCodeSA is from Feb. 23 – 25, 2018, at Trinity University’s Center for the Sciences and Innovation (CSI), West Campus Lane, in San Antonio.

Codeathon teams can work on any type of project (web apps, mobile apps, wearable solutions, data visualizations, algorithms, or visual mock-ups, for example). Public data sets and developer resources are posted to gocodesa.com. Exclusive VIA data sets will be released during our kick-off webinar event to be announced in January 2018.
Challenges will be posted to GoCodeSA.com during our kick-off webinar event and will focus on public transportation. Participants can choose to work on a provided challenge, but are not limited to them. Projects will be judged on impact, innovation, and technical achievement.
