Service to the Biggest Cultural Celebration in Texas will be enhanced by Prímo and VIVA service

SAN ANTONIO (May 29, 2018) — VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer convenient and affordable Park & Ride Service to the 47th Annual Texas Folklife Festival on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Institute of Texan Cultures, 801 E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. For all three days of the festival, June 8-10, 2018, VIA Prímo (100) and VIVA centro (301) routes will also be available to provide direct service to the Institute.

Park & Ride Service will be available from the Crossroads Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd., to the Folklife Festival’s Gate 3 on Cesar Chavez beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, and return service will continue until 11:30 p.m. The fare is only $2.50 each way with discounted fares available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride location. Customers may also conveniently pre-purchase tickets on the free VIA goMobile app. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for Special Event Park & Ride Service.

In addition to the Park & Ride Service, VIA Prímo and VIVA centro will be detoured to serve the Institute of Texan Cultures on the following schedule.
 Friday, June 8 – 4:30 to 11:30 p.m.
• Saturday, June 9 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Sunday, June 10 – 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
