VIA’s continued support of local, small-, and minority-owned business was recognized at the Hispanic Contractors de San Antonio Diversity Awards Gala on July 19.

VIA President Jeffrey C. Arndt and members of the VIA Procurement and Diversity and Federal Compliance staff accepted the HCA de SA Corporate Sponsor of the Year Award.

Nearly half of all contracts awarded by VIA go local vendors. VIA’s diversity program is designed to allow the participation of all small businesses and is used to set goals on contracts within the range of $25,000 to $1 million dollars, although exceptions to this threshold can be made to enhance small business participation when it is in the best interest of VIA’s procurement guidelines.
