VIA’s Semester Pass provides cost-effective, low-emissions options

SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 20, 2018) — It’s time for students to pick up their VIA Semester Pass for Fall 2018. VIA provides students unlimited trips on all regular, Express, and Prímo bus service for just $38 with a Semester Pass, now on sale at VIA Service Centers and available on select campuses.

The Pass is good for students enrolled in K-12, attending any college, university or trade school in the service area. The Fall 2018 Semester Pass is valid August 2018 through January 2019.

To obtain a Semester Pass, a student is asked to show proof of current registration and a school photo ID. If a student does not have a photo ID, VIA can issue one for a $2 fee at the VIA Metro Center, Downtown Information Center, Kel-Lac Transit Center, South Texas Medical Center Transit Center, North Star Transit Center, Crossroads Park and Ride, and Centro Plaza.

Students attending Alamo Colleges can also go to their Bursar’s Offices to pick up their Semester Pass, which is included in their tuition fees. Students at the University of Texas at San Antonio main campus can buy their passes at the Roadrunner Express Store, and students at the University of the Incarnate Word can buy passes at the Student Activity Center Information Desk.

Public transportation allows students to save, study, and access free on-board Wi-Fi. It’s easy to plan a trip with VIA, using the free goMobile app. The app’s trip-planning feature provides bus arrival information to help riders plan more easily and accurately.
