The VIA Metropolitan Transit Police Department will host a National Night Out celebration at Centro Plaza from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.
VIA invites the public to meet mascots Buster, Primo, and Safety Sofie, and VIA Transit Police officers. The event includes food and entertainment for passengers and encourages the community to help celebrate this annual night of making our communities safer and more caring places to live.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community and provides a great opportunity to bring the two together under festive circumstances.
VIA Transit Police is dedicated to serving the traveling public by working with our community, customers, and law enforcement partners to create a safe environment throughout VIA’s service area. VIA Transit Police officers maintain a presence at VIA facilities, offices, transit centers, shelters and stops, and the routes where VIA operates.
