The new school year kicked off with an easy and affordable way to get to class for ACD students. The Spring 2019 VIA U-Pass for students, faculty, and staff is now available at Alamo Colleges.

The U-Pass, designed to provide easy access to the VIA Metropolitan Transit system for college and university systems across the region, offers new travel options to sitting behind the wheel of a car. Similar to the VIA Semester Pass, the U-Pass offers unlimited trips on regular bus service, anywhere VIA goes. Our Lady of the Lake University was the first college to adopt the U-Pass in the fall of 2018.

The U-Pass will be provided to all Alamo Colleges faculty, staff, and academic students through the school’s partnership with VIA. They need only show their school ID to the bus operator when boarding VIA.

The U-Pass program allows local colleges and universities options to help address the challenges of growing student populations with providing affordable mobility options while helping the organizations with the limited and costly parking space on campus. By encouraging transit ridership, colleges and universities can free up capital funds from building parking lots to investing in student resources.

VIA offers efficient, affordable travel options for students throughout the region and provides modern passenger perks like free 4G LTE Wi-Fi on all its buses, instant access to the Bexar BiblioTech e-library for all riders, and several frequent and direct routes.
