VIA Metropolitan Transit Vice President of Technology and Innovation Steve Young was named Chief Information Officer of the Year at InnoTech, the regions largest Information and Innovation Technology conference, at the North San Antonio Chamber CIO Luncheon on April 4.
The event recognizes and awards the best and brightest in the field of information technology.
Young was selected for his leadership as demonstrated through his innovation, creativity, impact and delivery. He has spearheaded multiple technology projects in his three years at VIA, including the launch of VIA’s goMobile and Quick Trips apps, and collaborated with GoCodeSA for the Codeathon, a regional coding competition for transit solutions, now in its third year.
“I believe Steve showcases the spirit and innovation that San Antonio is striving for and he and his team is making a difference for this growing technology community,” says InnoTech Executive Director Sean Lowery.
