Updated plans reflecting community input to be shared

VIA Metropolitan Transit will host the third series of its Community Conversations to share information about the proposed VIA Rapid Silver Line project.

The VIA Rapid Silver Line is part of a state-of-the-art transit system that includes high-frequency service, upgraded stations with amenities, bus lanes and bus-friendly traffic signals. VIA Rapid will reduce travel time, increase reliability and improve safety along the corridor with additional infrastructure improvements.

At these meetings, residents can learn how the VIA Rapid Transit system is designed to connect more people to more places in less time, while reviewing the Silver Line’s design and seeing how their feedback is shaping stations, amenities, and the corridor.

These family-friendly Community Conversations will be held with no formal presentation and the same information will be available at all meetings on the following dates:

Thursday, June 26, 2025, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
VelocityTX (1305 East Houston Street)

The VIA Rapid Silver Line will provide fast, reliable service between the West and East sides of San Antonio. The project runs along West Commerce, Buena Vista and East Houston streets, from North General McMullen Drive, through downtown, to the Frost Bank Center. Outside of the project limits, VIA Rapid Silver Line service is planned to continue farther west to Kel-Lac Transit Center and farther east to the future Eastside Transit Center, near Sam Houston High School.

Public feedback has been incorporated into the design to include:

♦ Access to trail connections at Apache Creek Greenway and Commerce Street Greenway
♦ Access to H-E-B at Zarzamora Street station
♦ Continuing service to Kel-Lac Transit Center and the future Eastside Transit Center
♦ Bicycle accommodations at stations and on buses

Those who cannot attend in person may visit the VIA Rapid Silver Line webpage, beginning at 4 p.m. on June 24, 2025, to access meeting materials and comment forms.
Rod Sanchez, Senior Vice President of Planning & Development, will be available for media interviews at the June 24 Community Conversations meeting.
