To improve telephone answer times and generate better available reservation times, VIAtrans is making a change to the number of days in advance that trip reservations can be made.

Beginning July 1, 2019 VIA will conduct a pilot program that will reduce the number of days out that reservations can be made from seven days to four days in advance.

In analyzing trip reservations made in 2019, VIA discovered that on average 40 percent of all reservations made by VIAtrans customers are cancelled. This places an undue burden on the reservation and scheduling systems and hinders all other VIAtrans customers from being able to receive the reservation times that were held but cancelled.

The four-day reservation window is expected to speed up call-times and allow a closer match of requested to scheduled trip times.

Additionally, VIAtrans customers now have three options in which to make trip reservations:

  1. VIAtrans Reservations

Trips reservations can be made from one to four days in advance by calling (210) 362-5050.

Service Hours: Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. to make reservations from one to four days in advance.

Extended Service Hours:  Monday – Thursday, 4:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to make reservations from two to four days in advance excluding one day reservations.

  1. VIAtrans Online Services (VOS)

Trips reservations can be made online from one to four days in advance by logging into VOS at VOS.VIAinfo.net.

Some reminders when making online reservations:

  • Always double-check any information that you enter in VOS before confirming the reservation (i.e.; correct address, telephone number, etc.).
  • Not confirming a reservation will not finalize the trip reservation and the trip will not be scheduled.
  • A properly scheduled trip will always appear on the calendar.

If you are new to VOS, you can log in with your VIAtrans ID number.  Your VIAtrans ID number is also your password until you change the password in VOS. For assistance with VOS, call (210) 362-5050.

  1. Automated Telephone Reservation System

Trips reservations can be made using the automated telephone reservation system by calling (210) 362-5050, and at the main menu select option #2. Trips can be reserved from one to four days in advance.

Service Hours: Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. to make reservations from one to four days in advance.

Please note that VIAtrans does not make same-day reservations.
