VIA invites the public to join the VIA Metropolitan Transit Police Department to celebrate National Night Out from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.1.
The public is invited to enjoy free treats and games with friends, families and neighbors. Meet our Transit Police Officers, including our K-9 Unit that features Rocky, Rick and Bela. Guests also can take a pic with our mascot, Safety Sofie! The event includes food and entertainment for passengers and encourages the community to help celebrate this annual night of making our communities safer and more caring places to live.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and provides a great opportunity to bring the two together under festive circumstances.
VIA Transit Police is dedicated to serving the traveling public by working with our community, customers, and law enforcement partners to create a safe environment throughout VIA’s service area. VIA Transit Police officers maintain a presence at VIA facilities, offices, transit centers, shelters and stops, and the routes where VIA operates.
