VIA President and CEO Jeff Arndt will be among the panelist in the discussion “Future Mobility: Beyond Cars, Trucks, and SUVs,” at the Frost Tower (111 W. Houston St.) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 23, 2019.

The discussion is part of San Antonio Startup Week from Oct. 21-26 throughout the city and Arndt will join District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, City of San Antonio Aviation Director Russ Handy, Trinity University Professor of Architecture Antonio Petrov. Rivard Report founder Robert Rivard will serve as moderator.

The San Antonio area is expected to grow by more than 1 million residents by 2040. The growth of the city’s airport, our highway system, and the planned expansion of multiple transportation modes will all play a key role in San Antonio’s future and maintaining the city’s quality of life.

Recent economic development announcements signal that the San Antonio-New Braunfels-San Marcos-Austin corridor is evolving into one giant, interdependent metropolis. In addition, a coalition of San Antonio and Austin state representatives are working to revive conversations on the possibility of passenger rail between Austin and San Antonio ahead of the 2021 legislative session. Do these developments provide a window of opportunity for San Antonio to push for ambitious mobility plans that also include the growth and prosperity of the San Antonio Airport? Join our panelists as we discuss this and more.

San Antonio Startup Week is a six-day celebration of all things entrepreneurship in our city that features more than 100 panel discussions. Organized entirely by volunteers, the mission of SA Startup Week is to bring the community together through educational panels, actionable workshops, and city-building events.
