Service offers round-trip to Alamodome for just $5

College football fans can ride VIA and enjoy a convenient, affordable travel option to the Valero Alamo Bowl when the Utah Utes take on the Texas Longhorns, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019 at the Alamodome.

Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m., and special event service to the Alamodome will begin at 3:30 p.m. from Crossroads Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd.; Blossom Athletic Center, 12002 Jones Maltsberger Road; and Brooks Transit Center, 7903 S. New Braunfels Ave. Return service will continue until 12:30 a.m., to allow riders the chance to view the New Year’s Eve celebration fireworks at Hemisfair.

VIA’s special event service is only $2.50 each way with discounted fares for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride locations. Customers can also conveniently pre-purchase tickets on their smartphones with VIA’s goMobile app. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for Park & Ride Service.

In addition to the special event service, VIA Prímo (100) and VIVA centro (301) will be on alternate routes to serve the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome, beginning at 3:30 p.m. and continuing for one hour after the game. The regular bus fare of $1.30 will apply. Unlimited Day Passes are available on the bus for $2.75. VIA bus passes will be accepted for trips on Prímo and VIVA.
