VIA President Jeff Arndt says 1 million more people will live in San Antonio by 2040 and the greater San Antonio area will be home to 3.4 million residents — along with their cars.
“We must provide other options for moving around our community because there’s no way to build our way out of that onslaught of vehicles. The only solution is to offer an efficient transit system that creates a realistic alternative for people who may not want to drive everywhere,” Arndt writes in a MYSA.com opinion article posted online Jan. 7, 2020.
