VIA Metropolitan Transit will host its second virtual career fair on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, to recruit bus operators in preparation for an increase in service later this year.
VIA has over 2,000 employees, including more than 1,000 bus and van operators. The mass transit provider for San Antonio and Bexar County will introduce service improvements in spring 2021, designed to increase frequency and reliability on several key routes throughout the system. VIA is looking to hire new operators to help meet an anticipated increase in ridership demand as COVID-19 conditions improve.
The virtual event is designed to maintain safe conditions while opening job opportunities to potential new employees. It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, February 18, and can be accessed by phone or on Zoom. Applications are being accepted online now on the VIA Employment Page.
