VIA’s super affordable fares offer the best deal in town

As gasoline prices continue climbing, VIA Metropolitan Transit reminds riders they have affordable options to get where they need to go. VIA bus, van, and VIA Link services offer great deals, with the lowest price per trip in town.

Ride all day for less than the price of a gallon of gas. Single fares are just a $1.30 —about 1/3 the average price at the pump in San Antonio, where gas prices hovered around $4 on May 3, with premium-grade gas as high as $5.00.

VIA riders pay just $1.30 for single fares. The more you ride, the more you save. A VIA Day Pass is just $2.75, and the super-affordable 7-Day Pass is $12. With a 7-Day Pass, riders spend about $1.71 per day for VIA bus or VIA Link service. The per-day price to ride is down to about $1.26 with VIA’s 30-Day Pass for $38. And transfers are still free.

Reduced Fare Card holders, including active-duty U.S. military members and veterans, Medicare recipients, persons in the disability community, children ages 5-13, and students, can save even more. Students at participating college/university campuses ride free all day with the VIA U-Pass,seniors ride free on weekends, and kids under age 5 ride free anytime with a parent or guardian.
