VIA Voted “Most Popular Agency” in Transit Apps’ Riders Choice Awards
VIA Metropolitan Transit took first place in the “The Most Popular Agency” category of the first ever Transit App Riders Choice Awards.
Transit App calculated these awards using 2023 survey responses from 100,000 riders in 18 different cities across the United States, including Tampa, Las Vegas and Salt Lake city, and Canada. Respondents graded their respective transit agency on everything from delays and disruptions, to whether they’d recommend public transit to their family and friends on a scale of 1 to 10. The agencies with the highest ratio of top-rating riders rose to the top.
The surveys are part of Transit App’s quarterly Rider Happiness Benchmarking (RHB) questionnaire, which asks riders to give their transit agency a performance report card on a range of metrics. They conducted a Winter, Spring and Summer survey and aggregated the results of the three.
Other winners in the “Most Popular Agency” category were OC Bus in Orange County, California with 2nd place; PSTA in St. Petersburg, Florida with 3rd place; and CATA in Lansing, Michigan with “Most Improved” honors.
