One of VIA’s longest-standing facilities gets facelift and is set to open Oct. 29
Randolph Transit Center, one of VIA’s oldest transit hubs, has undergone a major reconstruction and the new facility will open Wednesday, Oct. 29, serving seven routes, VIA Link and VIAtrans.
VIA personnel will be onsite beginning at 4:30 a.m. to direct patrons to the proper bus stops for each route at the transit center.
The Randolph Transit Center serves Northeast San Antonio with Routes 8 North St. Mary’s, 17 IH-35 Express, 502 Thousand Oaks/Converse (Eastbound and Westbound), 505 Basse, 552 Loop 410/WW White Skip (Eastbound and Westbound), 632 Randolph/Ventura and 214 Austin Hwy/Randolph Lineup. The renovated facility also serves as the transfer point for VIA Link Randolph Zone and a dropoff/pickup location for VIAtrans customers.

The remodeled transit hub’s centerpiece is a new 4,200-square-foot building that features an indoor air-conditioned waiting area, a full-service customer information center, restrooms, indoor Next-Bus information screens, free Wi-Fi, a phone-charging counter and phone-charging ports on the indoor seating.
The exterior is highlighted by outdoor waiting areas with seating and canopy covers at all five bus stops, phone-charging outlets, outdoor NextBus information screens, environmentally friendly landscaping, bike lockers and an art-in-transit installation by artist Leticia Huerta (Leticia Huerta Studios).
The map below shows bus stops locations at the new transit center and lists the routes served by each of those stops.

A portion of the Randolph Transit Center parking lot will remain closed until construction on the south side of the facility is complete, and initially, not all services will be available at the information center.
