SAN ANTONIO (Apr. 28, 2026) — VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer fare-free service to polling locations for the Bexar County Joint General, Special and Bond Election on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
As part of its “Ride VIA to Vote” program, VIA will provide complimentary rides to and from the polls on Election Day across all services, including bus, VIA Link and VIAtrans.
Passengers can ride free by presenting a valid voter registration card to the operator.
The program is designed to remove transportation barriers and make it easier for residents to participate in the democratic process.
Registered VIAtrans customers should schedule trips in advance according to standard policies. VIA Link service is available within designated zones, with connections to the broader VIA network.
Customers can plan their trip using the Transit app or VIA goMobile+ app. A full list of voting locations is available at elections.bexar.org.
