VIA Metropolitan Transit is hosting a hiring event to fill law enforcement positions:

Job applicants should complete the following:
- Online application prior to event
- Register for the event.
- Arrive no earlier than posted time.
Starting salary pay for full-time Transit Police Officer is $56,000 per year while in training. After successful completion of training, pay increases to $62,000 annually.
Starting salary pay for full-time Transit Security Officer is $40,000 per year.
There is a uniform allowance for Transit Police and Security Officers.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for Transit Police Officer openings:
- 21 years or older
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License
- Eligible for commissioning through the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement.
- Be of good moral character.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for Transit Security Officer openings:
- 21 years or older
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED completion.
- State of Texas Security Officer Commission License (Level III) or obtain one within 180 days of hire.
- At least two years of commissioned security officer experience, prior law enforcement, military service or related security experience.
- Be of good moral character.
