VIA Metropolitan Transit is offering a hiring incentive of up to $4,000 for bus and paratransit van operators and up to $6,000 for mechanics and CDL shop attendants.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online prior to attending the VIA job fair taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the VIA Metro Center, 1021 San Pedro Ave. Free designated parking is available for job fair attendees. Every job fair attendee who completes a job application is automatically entered to win a door prize.

Starting pay for bus operators is $20.96 per hour and $23.07 per hour for mechanics. Paid training is provided for new operator hires with classes starting weekly. No experience is necessary. Uniform and tool allowances are offered, along with one of the most extensive employee benefits packages in the industry, including family medical coverage; life, dental and vision insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; longevity pay; shift differential pay; tuition assistance; on-site fitness centers and wellness programs; training and advancement opportunities; and ASE certification reimbursement.
